# Break60

> Break60 is a free daily golf puzzle game played in the browser at https://break60.com. Every day everyone gets the same course and conditions, builds a golfer from a fixed pool of skill points, and watches a simulated 18-hole round. Lowest score wins; breaking 60 is the headline challenge.

## How it works

- A new round goes live every night at midnight Eastern time (America/New_York). Monday to Wednesday each bring a new course; Thursday to Sunday is the week's tournament, four rounds at one course, one a day. There are 120 fictional venues across four styles: links, parkland, desert, mountain. Each venue keeps the same hole layout every time it hosts; the weather and setup change daily.
- Players split 120 points across 6 skill categories, each with four sub-skills:
  - Power: driving distance, long game, wind flight, strength.
  - Accuracy: fairways, crosswind control, trouble avoidance, course management.
  - Iron play: long irons, short irons, from the rough, flight control.
  - Short game: chipping, bunker play, pitching, touch.
  - Putting: short putts, mid-range, lag putting, green reading.
  - Intangibles: composure, confidence, clutch, focus.
- Players also pick a free playing style, from conservative to aggressive: bolder golfers make more birdies and more big numbers.
- Each day shows wind (speed and direction), temperature, fairway and green firmness, green speed (stimpmeter), green slope, rough height, the venue's grass, a one-line hint about what the course rewards, and a forecast that can be slightly uncertain.
- The round is simulated shot by shot and takes about a minute to watch. Every round gets its own luck, so the same build can score differently; good reads win over a season.
- Standing is the share of the field beaten (real players plus 250 simulated golfers). Each day has a prize purse, and players earn prize money by where they finish.
- Every tournament round is also that day's daily round. Signed-in players who play all 4 rounds, under conditions that shift each day, are also paid from a tournament purse 3x Thursday's daily purse. Missing a round drops a player from the tournament.
- The tournament that ends on the last Sunday of each month is a big event with a bigger purse and a tougher setup. Four each year are majors: The Azalea Invitational, The National Open, The Break60 Championship, The Season Championship.
- Share cards show the score, finish, and a hole-by-hole grid, never the build, so friends still have to work it out.
- Anyone can play without an account. A free account adds the daily leaderboard, streaks, career stats, and the season money list (seasons are calendar years).
